George Balanchine's The Nutcracker at the Pacific Northwest Ballet

PNB Nutcracker Outfit

What a fun, wholesome hearted evening, friends! Such a joy and privilege to be able to see George Balanchine's The Nutcracker last Saturday night. If you get the opportunity, you should definitely try to get your tickets while you can. I had the honor of hosting a group of ladies for the non-profit organization I am a part of in Seattle. Tickets are considerably more affordable if you decide to go in a group of 10 or more. The more people, the less per ticket. We were able to get a very special and exclusive backstage tour before the performance began. Going backstage was incredible but being able to make one little girl's dream come true was another. She not only met one but two of the ballerinas before the show began. Her face was lit up for the rest of the night!

Since I was co-hosting our event and passing out tickets, I wore something that would stick out in a crowd. This thrifted red plaid skirt came out of my winter bin last month and I'm happy to give it a second life this year! To be honest, I almost didn't share this outfit because I've worn almost the exact same thing last year in my Plaid Wrap Mini Skirt & a Boatneck post.

At the end of the day, I think it shows how timeless my vintage wrap skirt is! A classic piece is a classic piece.

For those of you who have never been to the ballet in Seattle, the show is at McCaw Hall which is in our City Center (near the Space Needle). It's beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Tons of trees lit up all over the building. They also have wonderfully painted photo ops for kids to step into and pretend to be part of the show. The gift shop is filled to the brim with Nutcrackers and ornaments and the concessions have wonderfully themed treats, like the mouse cookie above. A great family orchestrated event.

My favorite pro-tip I learned that evening was pre-ordering your drink for intermission! I had no idea! Simply go up to any concession stand to pre-order your beverage. It'll be waiting with your name on it at intermission and you can skip the line. I was spoiled by my group. They ordered me a glass of bubbles. Completely changes the game for all future shows! Prices aren't outrageous but for those on a budget (moi!) I ate before the event and brought a protein bar in my Rebecca Minkoff, just in case.

Anyone else going to The Nutcracker this year? I'd love to hear what you're wearing!
