Saturday Morning Recipe Writing & Homemade Bread

This past Saturday I decided to have a full day of lounging, taking care of myself and quiet time. Okay, not completely quiet but I kept the music happy. However, no tv. Which was a tough challenge, for some reason. My second challenge for the day was limiting my cell phone activity. Last challenge, was making fresh warm homemade bread. From Scratch.

Outfits of the Week

4 outfits from my week

Hello friends! This line up was posted on IG on Oct 3nd... that's how far behind I am in posting but, alas, there is only so much time we all have. These out fits were from the week before when it was still a tiny bit sunny. Since then, it's been chilly and grey in the mornings.

I'm in denial and don't want to wear tights and I plan to postpone as long as humanly possible. Both dresses were bought on Zulily and I can't stop wearing them. They're so easy to throw on and leave. It's great.

Throw-on-and-Go Dress & Superstars

Beige Dress Zulily, Adidas Superstars, Mariners Hat

You know those days - don't play, you know those days - when you're tired because you worked late from home, then couldn't fall asleep then roll out of bed late, put on mascara and run out the door?

Boyfriend Jeans & Booties

Caslon Boyfriend Jeans, Green Cardigan, Black Booties

Learning to wear my boyfriend jeans all year round is the most comfortable challenge I've ever attempted. This outfit was paired with booties for the first time and I didn't hate it. Seemed strange but tucking my tank in really put the focus on the jeans. Definitely interested in trying these out with a few of my other boots this year.

Hunter Green & Cowboy Booties

Peplums & Pie Hunter Green Dress Zulily

Tuesdays are for new plans, new dreams and new dresses. You guessed it ... another Zulily find and another keeper. Haven't found an item I don't like yet. A good sign!

Stone Cold White Thrift Blazer

Thrifted White Blazer ASOS, Loafers, Black Skinnies

Playing catch up on outfits. This was super easy to put together. I bought the white blazer at a thrift store. It's in perfect condition, originally ASOS and it was the right price.

Chilly Fall Saturday Vibes

This sweater is the ultimate game changer. I'm so obsessed with it, I haven't stopped wearing it since it arrived on my doorstep. I'm anemic, like a lot of other women. It's rare for me to feel my fingers and my toes in the Fall, Winter and first half of Spring. It's a wonder my favorite season is Summer.

Lessons in Apple Picking

If you saw my Apply Picking Outfit Post from earlier this week, you know my struggles with apple season in Washington State. You also know the lesson I learned about farms too. Long story short: CALL before you drive out of the city to go apple picking...

Brunch and Wine Tasting Outfit

Pink sweater, black jeans, black boots and brown crossbody

A fun and easy Sunday of brunching with a great gal friend and then meeting another for wine tasting in Woodinville. I really wanted to feel comfortable today, especially since I knew I would be walking up the hill and moving around a lot.

Apple Picking!! 🍎 🍏

What I work apple picking: Thrifted Sweater, Jeans and Brown Boots.

My attempt to go apple picking yesterday was completely unsuccessful. Apparently, in the state of Washington, apple season is over at the beginning of October. Even though the website states the orchard is still open. I can't say I'm surprised. I know better and understand that maintaining a farm and business is far more important than actually keeping up with a website. Especially during pumpkin season!

How to Make a Jewelry Hanger out of Tree Branches

Do it yourself. DIY. Make your own. What ever you want to call it: I'm about it.

This craft cost me all of $6 to make. Literally, six bucks. I got lucky. The wood is from a cedar branch from one of my best friend's backyard. Her husband had cut off a ton of branches from their tree and it was going to be used as firewood. Naturally, I asked for a few freebies and they, very kindly, obliged.

Travel Bug: 28th Annual Blackberry Festival, Bremerton, WA

banner of the blackberry pie festival in Bremerton WA

After going through my picture on my phone I found all of these terrific photos from a day-getaway last month. I have to share it because the whole reason my friend, H, and I went is for our undying love of one thing: Blackberries.

What I Wore to Bellevue Fashion Week

Bellevue Fashion Week Outfit

It's that time of year, loves! Fashion week, fashion shows, fall fashion. If there is one thing I get more excited about than traveling, it's a good ol' fashioned fashion show!

This is part one of two post. This is only my outfit post. I will post more details on the actual show. Which, spoilersssss, was amazing.

Since this month has been filled to the brim with events, it's been hard to blog but I'm determined to get this up for you because it's helpful to know what others wear to events. Especially if it's your first fashion show. This is now my 4th, I believe. The first one I was ever a part of, I was back stage and helping style the models.

This year, of course, I was in the audience. I was more than excited to purchase my ticket this year because all of the proceeds went to a non-profit that I might not have donated to without being told about. I'll talk about that in my "part-two" post.

Saturday Morning and Fall Harvest

Commercial All of my Heart in Love Hallmark Channel on TV

Last week was a particularly hard week. It's been a lot of work and, to be frank, I'm exhausted. I only scheduled ONE event on my calendar for the entire week. Which isn't like me at all.

So Saturday, I kept it easy and decided I to sleep in and take care of myself. I slept a full 10 hours. When I finally got up, I put on a "throw-on-and-go" dress, made some toast and sat down for some braindead tv time.

I don't have cable. I've lived in Seattle for 6 years this month and I've never once had cable. This year though, I did get basic channels along with my internet plan. Which means one thing to me: The Hallmark Channel.
