A Colorful Greeting to 2017

Well, I've had quite the hiatus and I've been trying to get back into the swing of things with this blog. I've had a terrible time when it comes to being creative and thinking of new and improved idea for myself. My little mind gets nervous of the judgement and pettiness of society. ... Like I said, it's been a long while.
This past year has brought priorities into perspective for me. To summarize, my beautiful Memére isn't doing well and I've gone to see her twice in a manner of two months. It's a bit of a travel to get where she is so it's not only expensive but it's also time consuming and, unfortunately, to the point where you don't end up with much time spent there. Old age has put things into perspective for me. Living life to your upmost passion has shadowed over me like fog, walking around in a haze of loss and yet strengthening everyday.

I'd decided in the New Year that I would focus my energy on making myself happy. Which is a rarity for myself. Generally putting others before me, etc. I've been through a lot with my grandmother being sick to a living situation scene, I've had to do a lot of thinking and evaluating of how I'm going to proceed through life in 2017. In the end, I came to a nice compromise of "...maybe make some changes...".

After all, you won't see a change unless you choose to make some yourself. I see the same people everyday, I work long hours and eat lunch at work, I meet the same friends at the same bars and I cook the same meals - No more!

I'm making the cuts as I see fit. If I don't like being around someone, I've realized that I don't have to be around them! If I want to meet new people, I can start a conversation with anyone about anything. If I want to try new foods, I can go to a different bar. I've somehow become a creature of habit and I don't know how. In my little turtle shell, unsure of how to get out.

To bring in the new year, I went with a jump. I went to a colorist and got balayage.

Oh yes, I decided to go drastic. My original color ideas were subtle and easy but I wanted a challenge and so did my colorist.

So, here is to new style, new grace and not tolerating nonsense. Happy very belated New Year, friends!
